Well, this has been an interesting experience.
We, here at DYW Argyll, hope that you are all well and coping with the situation we find ourselves in. We are certainly going through some strange times together.
The Scottish Government understands that it is not business as usual right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be resourceful and keep on building on what we have been doing.
All our team have been working from home to keep the DYW agenda going through the coronavirus pandemic. We are all social distancing and trying to use the technology available to us to good effect. Some of you may be able to relate to the picture below!
Unfortunately, the current situation means that a lot of the great events and programmes we had planned have had to be put on hold. We are not cancelling, simply postponing until we can get back to some form of normal.
We still plan to work with partners to bring our young people a successful Construction-Engineering-STEM event, a Rural Skills Fair, Aquaculture Taster Weeks and much more.
Right now, all the DYW groups around Scotland are working together to identify better digital delivery, better ways to work together, a better equalities offer and other things that will help us to benefit our young people and their progression to the workforce.
We are still open for business and would love to hear from businesses that would be interested in delivering some on-line advice, hold a Q&A about their business and from educators that want DYW to get involved.
Don’t be strangers, stay in touch through our social media channels and stay motivated. This won’t last forever!
